John 3:16
Sermon (5 Dec): WHEN TRUTH COLLIDES – PART 3
2nd big truth: Everybody you lay your eyes on, is somebody for whom Christ died for.
The word everybody refers to ALL of the people we see, we pass by.
They are the people of immeasurable value.
--> How do we treat someone whom God loves so much?
The value of a thing is determined by the price it will bring.
- Example: if I were to ask you to buy an iPhone which costs 2000 dollars, you wouldn’t buy it because it isn’t worth the money at all!
Therefore, we have the tendency to value people based on the value to us, not their value to God.
In our lives, we will value the people that the people you value, value.
- Example: I’m nice and say hi to my friend’s parents not because I like them, but because my friend values her parents, so I will value them too!
Coming back to the question: How do we treat someone whom God loves so much?
That someone can be closely related to you, or can be some random stranger you meet outside.
--> Is he/she just a stranger or a child of God in your eyes?
When we see each individual as a child of God, whom God values so much, we will begin to look at them differently.
1John 4:9-11 (New International Version)
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved
us, we also
ought to love one another.
--> ought = owe it to them.
God loves ALL of us, and that includes people who are unlovable, irritating, etc. If God can love a person, then surely, we can love like He does because He loved us first!
Let us begin to put aside our differences, and love one another.
Imagine you meet a stranger, and God speaks to you: treat the person well because he/she is highly valued by me.
Imagine when we are in a situation when the other party is being a nuisance and we wanted to start an argument or perhaps say something really mean, God speaks to you: He is highly valued by me.
Will things be different when you know this life-changing truth?
YES! : D
In
every relationship that we have with people, make it a point to remember that they, are valued by God whom He sends His son to die for. The person might be the worst jerk in the world, but
they are the very people that are valued by God.
So instead of: This person is so irritating; I’m going to avoid him/her.
CHANGE TO: Even though this person is irritating, but I will do my best to love her, because she is valued by God. She means to God as much as I mean to God!
OUR BELIEF GOT TO BE: GOD VALUES EVERYONE
But hor! That doesn’t mean there won’t be conflict for definite, just that in the midst of life right, we got to be
cautious and
mindful! =)
--> Jesus was crucified on the cross.
He did it for us, simply because He sees us of
great value.
So even when people persecute you, you got to remember: GOD VALUES THEM!
Instead of seeing people through our own lenses, let’s see them through God’s lenses today! :D
The next time you lay your eyes on a person; always remind yourself that he/she isn’t a stranger, but a person that God loves so much, that He gave his one and ONLY Son. =)
Sermon is awesome right? :D Then must remember to APPLY, we are not only hearers, but DOERS of the Word! Have a blessed week ahead people! =)

INTERMISSION!
Intermission is a period of time to restrategize or take action.
For example: soccer players restrategize duing half time, actors prepare for the performance during a break
Intermission periods can also be found in our christian life!
the 3 most common ones are
1)After we pray
2)After we hear sermon
3)Period after QT
These are periods where we can restrategize and take action as well!
For example, after we hear a sermon on saturday, we dont just forget about it for the rest of the week, but we act upon what we have learn and also encourage and remind each other about it as well!
Also, when we pray for things, do we remember them, and support them with our actions? if not, its time to do so!
Many times in our christian walk we get distracted during our intermission periods, and thus we lose our focus. We can be too busy or to caught up with the world that we miss out on examining ourselves, to get our personal life right!
James 1:22-25 (New International Version)
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.
We dont just hear the word and forget about it, but we act upon it, and we must constantly examine ourselves!
The Bible is our mirror and it shows us who we really are!
so what now?
1) Determine the actions that goes along with your prayer or the decision you have made during sermon
2) start talking about it!
3)get into a routine
4)Learn all you can and be observant!
5)examine your plans and goals on a daily basis
6)keep looking for opportunities to grow!~
have a blessed week

Hello noobs, you all know that i love you right. doesnt matter what you did wrong, doesnt matter what you didnt do well enough. you all are the best in God's eyes (and mine). i love you all!
ronald sanpeng norman marcusif you happen to read this, know that we love you.
maybe we dont go to you to tell you we love you,
maybe we didnt openly show that we appreciate you,
but im sure all of us miss you.
as cheesy as it sounds,
i pray that one day you will come back
and be the passionate child of God you used to be.
there are times when i fall like nobody's business in my spiritual walk, but i always get up again. the process of getting up isit easy, the road to restoration isnt easy. stop wasting time choosing what you think is best.
IS WHAT YOU'RE DOING NOW GONNA LAST YOU FOR ETERNITY? its not how you start the race or what happens in the race - its how you end the race. like it or not, you are in the race. run it and end it well. whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger, so make a point to be stronger than yesterday. i know you can.

Hi. Personal post here but maybe it will encourage some people.
I'm fat. I weigh 94kg and according to my secondary school record book, i'm severely overweight. I've been told to lose weight by doctor after doctor. It's not for me to look good, it's to make life easier for me. I have high-risk of diabetes and high blood pressure. There's history of both in my family. My grandma has hbp, my dad has slight hypertension.
Yesterday, i was reminded by the doctor again, that i have to lose weight or else sooner or later i will get it. The dark patch of skin on the back of my neck is a sign of diabetes. I've also had some symptoms such as blurred vision. I felt defeated. Seriously crushed. I went on my blog just now and typed out a whole long post complaining about everything but by the time i typed the second sentence, i got silenced by this verse.
But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—
our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
We thought he brought it on himself,
that God was punishing him for his own failures.
But it was our sins that did that to him,
that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins!
He took the punishment, and that made us whole.
Through his bruises we get healed.
We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost.
We've all done our own thing, gone our own way.
And God has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong,
on him, on him.
- Isaiah 53:4-5 (The Message)
Amen. Amen. Amen.
Another version says, by HIS stripes, we are healed.
Alot of times, we claim that Jesus is our almighty God. We claim that our God is Jehovah-rapha, our healing God. But do we really believe it? How many times do we actually sit still and completely throw our trust into God's hands?
That's about health and healing. But this verse goes even deeper. Sin. Everybody struggles, everybody has their temptations. But what power does temptation have over us? He bore our sins, He took the blame, He carried the cross, He felt the sting of the whip. All so that we didn't have to. All because He knew, we are too fragile to experience it. And all because He loves us.
Jesus,
come sickness or pain, i want to be used by You.
come persecutions or trials, i want to be by Your side.
come what may Lord, i want to love You.
come what may.
Amen, amen, amen.

LIKE A FIRELike a fire shot up in my bones
I want the world to know You are God
With a passion burning deep within
I want the world to know that You live
Let Your presence come and saturate
Every part of me, make me new
Let your spirit come and move within
Fill me once again, I need more
Jesus im desperate for You
Jesus im hungry for You
Jesus im longing for You
Lord You are all i want
Come like a flood and saturate me now
You're all i want
Come like a wind and sweep throughout this place
You're all we want
No point just singing songs to God because He deserves so much more. we need to LIVE OUT OUR FAITH. we dont talk about love, we show that we love. God LOVE us and He gave His Son to die for us (see the action?). what are we gonna do to show that we LOVE God. action speaks louder than words. Song can spur us on, that's because Holy spirit minister to us through the song. so apart from singing, what are YOU gonna do to profess your love to Him?
This song is now my prayer. its not just another random nice worship song. i wanna challenge all of you to begin to LIVE OUT YOUR FAITH, LIVE OUT YOUR LOVE. dont be contented with the little things you have. begin to seek and ask for more.
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Luke 11:9-10
"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
I firmly believe His promises endure forever. heaven and earth will fade away but His words remain. cool right? :D

Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord that he will provide for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today you will never, ever see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you can be still.”
-Exodus 14:13-14(NETbible)
Was doing QT (Old Testament FTW!) and this verse jumped out at me. Alot of times we fear things we do not know and we get anxious and we worry. We fill our lives with "what if?"s. "What if i don't get good results?". "What if people all laugh at me?" "What if the sky falls down? *cue song: down by jay sean feat lil'wayne*. In this verse, Moses says to the Israelites who were running away from the Egyptians: "
Do not fear! Stand firm and see the salvation of the LORD that he will provide for you today;". Isn't it the same thing that God reminds us?
Do not fear! but see as God provides us what we need
today. Look in awe as the Holy Spirit meets our needs. Watch as God fills the vacuums in our hearts.
Verse 14 says "
The LORD will fight for you, and you can be still." Whoah! I don't know about you but if i know that God is fighting for me, i think the enemy gone case liao lol.
He fights the fight for us, so what can we do for Him?
Cheers! danni.

Hello peeps. Edwin here. Here is what last week's sermon was all about.
WHEN TRUTH COLLIDES: PART 2
1st BIG TRUTH: God knows what is best for us better than we do
Some people have some problems with this big truth. We do not buy it at times.
We tend to think that we know this is the best.
And as you all know, we DON'T.
So, what is the problem with us?
God knows the best. Face it, and take it.
Also, our outcomes do not show itself as soon as we make decisions.
When we make the wrong choices, our outcomes do not appear straight away.
Some require time for the bad outcomes to appear.
For example, like what PD said, one girl got AIDS after doing it (you know what I mean) ONCE.
She made the wrong decision and the result appeared many years later.
By then it is too late.
Now, where have we heard that before?
Scary huh?
How do we avoid it?
Simple answer, though not very easily applicable.
It's based on last 2 week's sermon: BELIEF-->DECISION-->OUTCOME
SOLUTION: CHANGE YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM;
replace the belief system which says 'we know the best for us' with 'God knows much better'!
Example: instead of asking for something to appear instantly, wait for God's timing as He knows the best!
Proverbs 3:5-6 says 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths'
Trust Him and lean on His understanding, not our own. He knows better than us.
Remember King Solomon who tried to achieve good things by doing the wrong things?
Background story:
King Solomon was the wisest man alive on earth. He was respected. When he was young, God appeared to him twice and in one of it He asked young Solomon what his wish was. He asked for wisdom. And also, God said since he asked for wisdom to rule Israel, He will bless him with other things which he did not wish for.
He was granted his wish. But he thought he was wiser and he thought his ways were better instead of God's.
God told Israelites long ago that Jewish man could not marry foreign girls (lol @ them?).
Solomon thought he was special, so he married the foreign kings' daughters in order to have peace and bond among their countries.
Big mistake dude.
His heart was turned to his foreign wives and he was led by them to their own gods.
So what happened next?
Israel was invaded by foreign countries (and Solomon married the kings' daughters y'know?).
Israel was separated into two parts: Judea and Israel.
Sad eh?
Do not trust your heart like what your mom told you.
'Deep inside your heart. Dig it. Hear what your heart wants..'
Your heart is not a constant thing.
But God is never-changing.
God's will trumps our understanding.
Submit to God and trust in Him --> Godly, desirable outcomes.
Trust God till we begin to see the Godly outcomes.
That's it folks! =D
